Lovima 75mcg Tablets Desogestrel

Lovima 75 microgram desogestrel is a progestogen-only pill for pregnancy prevention. Take one tablet at the same time each day with no breaks. It mainly works by stopping ovulation and also thickens cervical mucus. Irregular bleeding can happen, especially in the first months.

How to use
Swallow one tablet daily at the same time, with or without food, and continue without a break. If you are more than 12 hours late, take one tablet as soon as you remember, then take the next at the usual time, and use condoms for the next 2 days. Vomiting or severe diarrhoea soon after a dose can reduce effect, take another tablet as soon as you can and use condoms for 2 days. Starting on day 1 to 5 of your period gives immediate protection; if you start later, use condoms for 2 days. Seek advice if you need to start after childbirth, miscarriage or abortion.

Main ingredients
Each tablet contains desogestrel 75 micrograms. Each tablet also contains lactose, about 55 mg. Do not take if you have rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Side effects and cautions
Common effects include irregular bleeding, headache, acne, breast tenderness, mood changes and nausea. Do not use if you are pregnant, have current or past breast cancer, severe liver disease, unexplained vaginal bleeding, or allergy to any ingredient. Effectiveness can drop with enzyme-inducing medicines such as certain epilepsy, TB and HIV treatments, and with St John‚√Ñ√¥s wort; ask a pharmacist about alternatives while on these medicines. Use with care in thrombosis risk, though the risk is lower than with combined pills. Breastfeeding is usually compatible. Seek urgent help for signs of a blood clot, severe abdominal pain, sudden breathlessness, severe headache or visual changes, or allergic reaction.
